The Westland Colere 4th Edition is a unique American Single Malt whiskey that continues to explore the impact of barley on whiskey flavor. Distilled from Fritz barley, a variety developed by Washington State University's The Bread Lab, this edition highlights the distinct ester notes which manifest as a bouquet of fruit tones transitioning to an herbaceous finish. The whiskey was matured for 71 months using a combination of refill Westland casks with varying degrees of toast and char, alongside a small percentage of first-fill ex-bourbon casks. There has only 3,084 bottles of this limited edition that have been released, making it a collectible item for enthusiasts. This release is part of Westland's ongoing effort to explore new barley varieties and their specific contributions to whiskey flavors, stepping away from conventional grain choices to embrace the diversity of the Pacific Northwest terroir
